Why Fat Salโ€™s?
The food is first and will always be first, thatโ€™s why weโ€™re here. Josh, one of the co-owners, says: โ€œI grew up in New York and I took the subway to and from high school. The whole idea of eating and being on the street and maintaining some relationship between the two is really near and dear to Fats Sal's. We've been listening to hip-hop since forever so the culture of it has always been really near and dear to us.  Whether itโ€™s from the evolution of the music to break dancing to graffiti, street style and being a sneakerhead, itโ€™s part of my childhood, itโ€™s part of me now and itโ€™s part of Fat Salโ€™s.โ€
Fat Sal's is the culinary culmination of Joshโ€™s 30 years in the restaurant business, his business partner's experience and both of their palates. โ€œWhat we did was make a place that we'd really like to hang out in.โ€
Weโ€™ve embraced the culture and vibe of the sneakers stores and street style of LA and NY but with food.
