Fitness Attendant Open Position at Sage YMCA!
Salary range starts at $20.00 per hour.
The Sage YMCA in Crystal Lake is hiring for a part time Fitness Attendant to join the YMCA team. This integral position on the Fitness Team could be your first step to a building a career in fitness, or the next step in your fitness journey.
As a Fitness Attendant - You will:
  • Develop, motivate and maintain professional relationships with members by providing personal attention to all members and guests using a proactive approach
  • Be an active marketing resource by discussing and promoting the YMCA fitness programs with our members
  • Provide basic assistance and guidance to users of the fitness equipment when needed, as you acknowledge all members throughout the facilities
  • Ensure a safe environment through constant circulation of the fitness facilities and promptly responding to safety and emergency situations
  • Support the YMCA's mission and center operations

To be Qualified you must have:
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • The ability to Lift/Carry up to 50 lbs. and push >50 lbs.
  • A passion for and obtain general knowledge of preventative health and fitness programs and philosophy
  • Current American Red Cross CPR/AED and First Aid certifications or must obtain within thirty days of employment

Child Abuse Prevention Support the YMCA's commitment to child abuse prevention by:
  • Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
  • Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
  • Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
  • Completing all child abuse prevention training, as required
