Job description

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant / Project Accountant to support a high-volume accounting environment during a period of continued growth and a Sage Intacct implementation. This role will be responsible for transaction processing, project-level reconciliations, and daily accounting support across a complex portfolio of joint ventures.


The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, experience working in a high-volume setting, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. Construction industry experience is preferred, but candidates from other fast-paced environments will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities


Process and maintain high-volume accounting transactions and data entry activities

Pull supporting documentation for cost-sharing invoices and project-related transactions

Assist with daily accounting operations and month-end close activities

Prepare and complete bank reconciliations across multiple joint venture entities

Support project accounting functions and maintain accurate financial records

Collaborate with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies

Assist with the organization's transition from Sage 300 to Sage Intacct

Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting requirements

Participate in special projects and provide additional support during periods of increased transaction volume



Qualifications


2+ years of accounting, project accounting, or staff accounting experience

Experience working in a high-volume transactional environment

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred

Equivalent relevant accounting experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
