Job description

The Analytical Engineer will be a member of the in-house analytics and operational support team. This team is primarily responsible for data collection and analysis of the processes and products manufactured at Saft Cockeysville. This person will be primarily responsible for data retrieval, metrics displays, and data reporting for business support functions such as purchasing, accounting, and warehousing. This person will also be expected to provide production support for ongoing projects. MUST BE A US CITIZEN OR GREEN CARD HOLDER


  • BS in a technical discipline, mathematics, computer science, and/or evidence of exceptional experience.
  • Experience with data processing, analysis, and validation using Microsoft products is required.
  • SQL experience is required.
  • Experience with data visualization using Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Navision is helpful.
  • Willingness to learn and retain knowledge of basic programing skills is desired in the following: C#, ASP.net, and Visual Basic.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication abilities, including written and verbal, with strong emphasis on training users in software and hardware processes.
  • Must be available via phone for 24/7 plant support.
  • Self-starter with curiosity about processes and products willing to dive into problems.
  • Strong sense of team and ability to bridge cross functional groups to achieve desired outcomes.

    • Work with business support functions to determine what data to gather and the most efficient way to collect and transmit this data.
    • Process, review, and publish data metrics in a manner that aids in decision making.
    • Ensure consistency in data capture, data storage, data transfer, and data processing methodology.
    • Perform data quality validation of business support data as produced by analytics department.
    • Train users of all levels in the tools developed by the data analytics department.
    • Develop systems that are in line with production uptime requirements.
