Job description

ABOUT US

RideNow Group is the largest publicly traded powersports dealership network in the United States, operating approximately 50+ locations across multiple states (NASDAQ: RDNW).

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Risk Manager is responsible for building, standardizing, and leading the company's enterprise-wide risk management program, with a primary focus on workers' compensation, claims management, and insurance programs within a self-insured retention (SIR) structure.

Operating within the RideNow Way, this role helps bring consistency, accountability, and operational discipline to overall risk management practices across all locations-ensuring that processes are followed, incidents are handled effectively, and decisions support both employee well-being and business performance.

The position partners closely with Legal, HR, Operations, Brokers, and TPAs to actively manage risk exposure, ensure compliance, and drive accountability at the store level.

The goal of this role is to transform risk management from a reactive, decentralized model into a structured, cost-controlled, and scalable function that supports operational performance and financial outcomes. Success relies on personal execution, deep analytical capability, and the ability to influence field leadership, store managers, and external partners without direct organizational authority.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Risk Analysis & Cost Control

  • Analyze enterprise loss data, claim reserves, and Total Cost of Risk (TCOR).
  • Develop executive-level reporting and dashboards to identify trends, cost drivers, and operational risks.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including claim duration, average cost per claim, reserve accuracy, and lost-time frequency.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to executive leadership to reduce overall risk exposure and claim costs.

Claims Management & TPA Oversight

  • Hands-on management of multi-state workers' compensation claims within a Self-Insured Retention (SIR) environment.
  • Actively monitor reserve strategy, severity, and claim lifecycles to control financial exposure.
  • Manage TPA adjusters and external counsel, challenging reserve levels, resolution strategies, and settlement decisions.
  • Support return-to-work (RTW) programs across all stores, including modified duty and lost-time mitigation.
  • Partner with HR and Legal to coordinate complex general liability, auto, and property claims.

Incident Management & Field Reporting Discipline

  • Establish and standardize enterprise-wide incident reporting protocols across all retail locations.
  • Oversee root-cause analyses and incident investigations for workplace injuries and facility losses.
  • Ensure timely, accurate reporting across all risk categories (WC, Liability, Auto, Property).
  • Identify systemic operational trends and implement preventative measures across the dealership network.

Field Engagement, Safety & Influence

  • Train General Managers and store leadership on incident response, reporting expectations, and workers' compensation protocols.
  • Identify and empower store-level safety leads, driving accountability through influence and coaching.
  • Promote consistent safety awareness, operational hazard reduction, and compliance across all dealerships.
  • Support OSHA compliance efforts, documentation standards, logs, and reporting mandates.

Program Standardization & Compliance

  • Drive central control and standardization of risk management workflows from corporate headquarters.
  • Ensure strict adherence to multi-state workers' compensation laws and safety regulations.
  • Maintain audit-ready risk documentation, policies, controls, and operational guidelines.
  • Design and implement standardized drug testing and post-incident response protocols.

Insurance, Broker & Vendor Management

  • Serve as the primary internal contact for insurance brokers, underwriters, carriers, and TPAs.
  • Lead annual renewal preparations, exposure data gathering, underwriting submissions, and coverage analysis.
  • Provide strategic input on coverage structures, policy terms, retention levels, and cost implications.
  • Partner with Legal on complex claims, litigated files, and risk transfers.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed to support risk management operations, process improvement, and business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Technical Skills

  • 5-8+ years of progressive experience in risk management, claims oversight, or corporate safety/insurance programs.
  • Tech-Saavy: Proven track-record of seamlessly transitioning across diverse software platforms and enterprise systems.
  • Direct experience in multi-location environments (retail, automotive, dealership, or logistics preferred).
  • Deep expertise in workers' compensation and Self-Insured Retention (SIR) structures across multi-state operations.
  • Demonstrated track record of TPA/broker management, reserve auditing, and claim litigation oversight.
  • Advanced analytical capability using loss-run data and risk management software to build actionable executive reporting.

Interpersonal & Functional Leadership Skills

  • Proven capability as an Individual Contributor: Self-motivated, execution-focused, and comfortable building programs from scratch without relying on direct reports.
  • Strong Cross-Functional Influence: Ability to build credibility, train, and hold store General Managers accountable without direct line authority.
  • High adaptability in a fast-paced, matrixed, public-company environment.

Work Environment & Requirements

  • Hybrid Model: Based in our Chandler office Monday through Thursday, with remote work on Fridays. Evening and weekend availability required as needed.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
  • Frequent communication with internal and external partners.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to field locations as needed for training, audits and incident review.
  • May be exposed to operational environments (retail/service areas with equipment and noise).

Work Authorization

Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Our Culture

We operate in a fast-paced, performance driven environment focused on accountability, ownership and continuous improvement.

Equal Opportunity Employer
