Scope

This position leads the company’s enterprise-wide risk management strategy, overseeing the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks to support operational resilience and protect company assets. This role is responsible for the procurement and management of all insurance programs—including property, workers’ compensation, auto, liability, directors & officers (D&O), fiduciary, and related coverages—while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-effective risk transfer solutions.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, implement, and lead comprehensive risk management policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Procure, negotiate, and manage all corporate insurance programs, including property, workers’ compensation, auto, liability, D&O, fiduciary, and other industry-specific coverages.
  • Oversee claims management processes, working closely with internal teams and insurance carriers to ensure timely and accurate resolution.
  • Conduct or facilitate risk assessments and analysis to identify, evaluate, and prioritize potential exposures and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, HR, and operations to ensure integration of risk management practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze insurance market trends to optimize coverage and manage costs.
  • Maintain and update risk management documentation, insurance schedules, certificates, and compliance records.
  • Provide or facilitate guidance and training to operations on risk control and insurance-related matters.
  • Monitor, promote, and positively influence locations on ensuring best practices are in place to mitigate loss exposures.
  • Lead insurance renewals, audits, and reporting, ensuring timely submission of data and effective communication with brokers/carriers.
  • Advise senior leadership on emerging risks, coverage gaps, and strategic risk transfer options.

Basic Qualifications 

  • College Degree and equivalent work experience in related job function.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Typically, more than 7 years of experience in related job function; May require professional certification
