Job description

All About You
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Safety Manager. In this role, you will develop and implement strategies, goals, and objectives through collaboration with the General Manager and other Department Managers in line with Saft Corporate and Site Safety Program to achieve and sustain progress towards the stated safety vision at all levels of the organization. Coach and support the Site policy deployment. Guide and train employees in the use of the appropriate safety tools/procedures to reach business objectives for Safety. Act as the PPE coordinator. Ensure compliance with safety regulations at the local, state and federal levels . Provide leadership and management of our local safety program.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree with experience in manufacturing and/or safety program management
  • Minimum of 5 years in Industrial operations
  • Knowledge of OSHA occupational safety and health standards for general industry.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal, Analytical and Statistical skills
  • Strong computer skills.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and resolve unsafe behaviors and unsafe conditions in the workplace
  • Determine areas of opportunity to improve our safety culture and safety program
  • Conduct safety audits for compliance to regulatory agency requirements, Track and report the site's month completion rate of oll safety related KPIs
  • Provide leadership to safety projects, VBS Steering Committee, Safety Committee, and to all employees to prevent safety incidents
  • Investigate all incidents to determine root cause and determine opportunities to prevent reoccurrence
  • Report all incidents within 24 hours of occurrence, report monthly metrics locally and to corporate. Report OSHA 300 log/summary as required.
  • Update safety policies and procedures as necessary
  • Maintain and improve safety of processes by minimizing and eliminating job hazards and participating in safety related activities.

  • Participate by performing initial safety review of all new equipment installations and review of major modifications to equipment and/or manufacturing process changes
  • Identify safety risks in process area.
