This Opportunity:

The Program Manager will lead a regional team of Project Managers responsible for delivering a high-volume portfolio of inside plant cabling projects within data center environments. This role is accountable for PM team performance, regional project execution, forecasting accuracy, schedule adherence, cost control, change management, documentation discipline, and client satisfaction.

The Program Manager will oversee a regional pipeline of approximately 15-30 active projects, with 4-8 new project starts per month, and will ensure Project Managers have the direction, support, resources, and accountability needed to deliver projects safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with customer requirements. This role is expected to balance day-to-day project execution with team development, process improvement, and regional program planning.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safety is the main fiber of our network. Follow safe work practices that conform to the Company’s Safety program and customer site policies and procedures.
  • Promote company Core Values to foster and safeguard Company culture.
  • Manage the regionalpipeline andprojectmanagers,maintainingan active book of15–30projects with 4–8 newproject startsper month.
  • Prioritize and schedule incoming work tomaintain a stable execution queue with 6–8 weeksof backlog visibility at all times.
  • Coordinate closely with field operations to ensure proper materials, equipment, and workforce are available for each projectstart.
  • Track project financial performance against estimates;maintainproject margin at or above budgeted targets across a regional revenue range of $20M–$40M.
  • Ensure fast project turnover by actively managing cycle times from project start to completion and driving an improving trend.
  • Monitor schedule adherence across all active projects with a target of greater than 90% on-time performance.
  • Establish projectobjectives, performance metrics, and execution procedures in alignment with corporate and business unit standards.
  • Manage status and timeliness of all submittal packages, RFI logs, Change Order Request Logs, and other project documentation throughout the life of assigned projects.
  • Manage project scheduling requirements to control costs and meet contractual requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor and vendor relationships; streamline project activities for efficiencies; communicate with staff and management to keep all parties informed of customer and job requirements.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates and progress to all stakeholders.
  • Monitors installation activities in conjunction with field supervision, ensuring productivity is aligned with schedule and budgetrequirementsand that in-place work conforms with contract documents.
  • Partners with QA/QC to ensure alignment with quality plan requirements.
  • Provideaccurateandtimelyproject forecasting to support regional planning and resource allocation decisions.
  • Activelyparticipatesin client and project interviews for new contracts and continuing business opportunities as may berequired.
  • Attend all required meetings and serve as an ambassador for the company.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Proven ability to lead Project Managers in a fast-paced, high-volume project environment.
  • Strong understanding of datacenter, structured cabling, low-voltage, fiber, copper, pathway, rack/cabinet, labeling, testing, and closeout requirements.
  • Ability to manage a multi-project regional portfolio without losing visibility into safety, schedule, cost, quality, documentation, risk, or customer commitments.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to create structure, cadence, and accountability across multiple Project Managers and field teams.
  • Proficient in using project data, dashboards, job cost reports, forecasts, schedules, and PM updates to make informed business decisions.
  • Solid understanding of projectfinancial management, including job cost tracking, forecasting, margin maintenance, billing status, change order management, and cost-to-complete analysis.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, customer site policies, and work practices applicable to datacenterand mission-critical environments.
  • Ability toidentifychange events early and ensure Project Managers follow disciplined change management practices.
  • Ability to develop, review, and manage project schedules across a concurrent project portfolio.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to communicate effectively with executives, customers, Project Managers, field supervision, vendors, subcontractors, and craft personnel.

Experience and Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business, engineering, information technology, telecommunications, or a related discipline is a plus, but equivalent hands-on data center, cabling, low-voltage, or field leadership experience will be given full consideration.
  • Minimum5+ years of project or program delivery experience, preferably in datacenter, structured cabling, low-voltage, telecommunications, fiber/copper infrastructure, or mission-critical environments.
  • Experience leading Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, field leaders, or multi-project delivery teams is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing multiple concurrent projects at various stages of intake, planning, execution, closeout, and billing.
  • Data center inside plant cabling experience is strongly preferred, including familiarity with customer standards, MOP/SOP-driven environments, access constraints, change control, QA/QC, testing, labeling, and turnover documentation.
  • Field background in structured cabling, low-voltage, electrical, telecommunications, data center operations, or related installation environments is a strong plus.
  • Experience managing projects across common contract delivery methods, including lump sum/fixed price, unit price/rate, and time and material.
  • Proven ability to use project management, scheduling, reporting, or job cost systems to manage a multi-project workload and provideaccurateforecasts.
  • OSHA-30 Hour certificationrequired. If not certified at time of hire, certification must be obtained within the first six (6) months of employment.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has direct reports and is responsible for leading, developing, and managing a team of Project Managers and/or related project delivery personnel.

Work Location and Travel:

Regional role with willingness to commit to approximately 25% travel within the assigned region, including customer sites, project locations, regional offices, and team meetings as needed.
