You’ll be joining a collaborative cardiology team serving a dedicated rural population of approximately 30,000 residents, with access to a newly expanded surgical and procedural facility. This is a rare chance to build strong relationships with patients and work within a forward-thinking, community-focused organization that values both clinical excellence and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities of the Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA)

  • Perform comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including physical exams, patient histories, ECG interpretation, and preventive screenings.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on clinical findings, evidence-based guidelines, and patient goals.
  • Prescribe medications and non-pharmacologic interventions as appropriate to scope and cardiology protocols.
  • Educate patients and families on chronic disease management, wellness, and safety planning.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and imaging; refer to specialists or community services as needed.
  • Perform minor procedures, including basic wound care, debridement, and suturing for superficial conditions.
  • Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and adjust care plans accordingly.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff in both clinic and outpatient procedural settings.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Licensed and Board-Certified (or Board-Eligible) Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, with eligibility for Oregon licensure.
  • Previous experience in cardiology is strongly preferred; however, motivated new graduates with strong clinical rotations will also be considered.
  • Skilled in ECG interpretation, risk factor management, and cardiovascular wellness counseling.
  • Comfortable with minor procedural skills (e.g., wound management and suturing).
  • Strong communication skills, commitment to team-based care, and an interest in rural medicine.
