Rogers Group Inc. is currently seeking an Experienced Motor Grader "Finish Grade" Operator in the Huntsville, AL / North Alabama operations area, Alabama SMA reporting to the General Manager of Construction & Superintendent. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Job Details:

  • Wages start at $30.00hr,

  • Starting wage will be higher based on verifiable experience.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Operate motor grader and other heavy or grading equipment to complete grading and fine grading tasks.
  • Ability to operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency and in challenging and unique terrain environments.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Perform daily pre-and post- inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in finish grading Required!

  • Individual must be dedicated to working safely at all times

  • Experienced working with GPS control preferred

  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and nights when necessary

  • Team player

  • Valid driver's license

  • Additional:

  • Distinguish and understand signals.

  • Read and understand grade stakes.

  • Use both hands and feet at the same time.

  • Work in an environment with noise levels that may require hearing protection.

  • Must be able to hear and understand commands from supervisors, warnings from fellow workers, and alarms on equipment.

  • Able to use mechanic's hand tools and tape measure.

  • Able to crawl and climb on, over, under and inside construction equipment.

  • Lift and carry objects and materials of various weights up to 100 pounds.

  • Good vision, both close-up and long-distance, and ability to look forward, side to side, and toward the rear of equipment.

  • Must have good reliable transportation to make it to and from work.

  • Self-motivated individual - must be able to perform required duties independently, without constant supervision.

  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.

  • Must be Drug Free and able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and possess a Valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
