SUMMARYÂ
Mortenson is currently seeking a Safety Engineer that will be Responsible for implementing Mortenson's Zero Injury Safety program at a project site and ensuring a safe work environment for team members, subcontractors, and visitors to the construction work site.Â
This position offers opportunities at both levels 1 and 2, allowing candidates to apply based on their experience and qualifications. Compensation for this role is determined based on factors such as experience and location. Â
RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Implement and administer safety program at each worksite, assist in developing site-specific safety activities, conduct safety orientation/trainingÂ
Document and track safety violations, conduct safety audits, analyze safety data, assist with major incident analysis, manage OSHA reportingÂ
Review safety submittals, monitor trade partner work plans, assist with onsite injury management, organize safety celebrations, participate in project planning/hazard analysisÂ
Provide safety-related information, evaluate industrial hygiene concerns, maintain knowledge of safety standards/regulations, serve as safety resource, attend/chair safety meetingsÂ
Collaborate with client safety personnel, union representatives, insurance risk engineers, accompany safety/health/OSHA personnel on tours, ensure maintenance of safety equipment, manage PPE and safety budgetÂ
Build effective relationships with diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsÂ
QUALIFICATIONSÂ
Bachelor's or associate's degree in occupational safety, health, or related field preferred OR high school diploma with CHST or STS certification, OSHA 30 Hour training, and minimum five years of construction experienceÂ
Previous related internship experience a plusÂ
Current driver's licenseÂ
Detail-oriented, able to organize and manage multiple project tasksÂ
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related software programsÂ
Positive, professional attitude and strong customer service skillsÂ
Ability to interpret and communicate company policiesÂ

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.Â
