Job description

Administrative Professional - Safety Department  
This is an entry-level position is an administrative role for the Safety Department with occasional field tasks. Responsible for ensuring proper document management, data entry, administration of incident reports and support on worker’s compensation incidents.
JDC is one of the largest heavy highway and civil construction firms in the state with over 1,000 employees, while still retaining a family business atmosphere. 
Position Description
Provide clerical and administrative support to the safety department.
Document, report and train on jobsite related incidents and injuries.
Keep all documentation up to date.
Identifies, documents and resolves onsite safety risks or discrepancies during daily site walks.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years clerical experience a plus
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • Possess/maintain a valid State driver's license.
  • Must be flexible to work variable shifts and some Saturdays
  • Must be able to work extended hours on short notice during irregular operation
  • Basic computer skills with some competency in Microsoft word/excel
  • Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time
  • Ability to travel within the state of Florida, overnight stay minimal
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs or ladders outdoors for an extended period of time
