Safety Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the health, safety, and sustainability of our operations. They are responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive safety and environmental compliance programs, fostering a culture of safety consciousness, and proactively addressing environmental risks and challenges that align with corporate standards and local needs. This position will report directly to the Corporate Safety Director.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain corporate reporting to OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA.
  • Ensure compliance of individual subsidiaries with all local, State, and Federal Environmental, OSHA, DOT, and FMSCA standards.
  • Stay informed an upcoming changes to standards in Environmental, OSHA, DOT and FMSCA standards that have an effect on the corporation and its operations.
  • Work with 3rd party consultants in areas work responsibility.
  • Assist in training local safety and fleet managers on standards.
  • Participate in steering committees within the corporation.

** This position will require 90% in the field performing site visits in the greater Atlanta market and 10% in the office.**

Requirements
  • 10 years of safety management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Certifications (At least one of the following required):
    • ESCO certified
    • CSP – Certified Safety Professional
    • ASP – Associate Safety Professional
    • OSHA 30, CPR, and First Aid
  • Work with HR/ Operations Managers to ensure all compliance areas are kept up to date.
  • Monitor Samsara camera driving habits and maintain Pass Score to respectable level.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Management. Attend meetings on projects with high safety requirements.
