POSITION TITLE & DESCRIPTION

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting and promoting a proactive safety culture throughout MAXAIR operations. This position works closely with field employees, supervisors, project managers, and leadership to ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices. Success in this role means being a visible leader in the field who builds trust with employees, identifies hazards before incidents occur, and promotes a culture where safety is a core value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Promote and reinforce MAXAIR safety culture.

· Conduct routine and unannounced safety audits and inspections.

· Support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Pre-Task Planning.

· Deliver New Hire Orientation and safety training.

· Investigate injuries, near misses, vehicle accidents, and property damage incidents.

· Maintain OSHA compliance and required safety records.

· Support fleet safety and Smith System Driver Training.

· Assist with workers' compensation case management and return-to-work programs.

· Track corrective actions and ensure timely completion.

· Support development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.

· Participate in Safety Committee meetings and improvement initiatives.

· Prepare safety reports, metrics, and executive communications.

Requirements:

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

· High School Diploma or GED required.

· Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.

· 2–5 years of construction safety experience preferred.

· OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification preferred.

· CHST, STS-C, OSHA 500, and First Aid/CPR certifications preferred.

· Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.

· Experience conducting audits, inspections, investigations, and safety training.

· Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.


Work Setting / Location / Physical Capabilities

The Safety Coordinator works in active commercial and industrial construction environments, customer facilities, offices, and training settings. Regular travel between jobsites is required. The position is exposed to varying weather conditions, construction noise, dust, moving equipment, and other construction-related hazards.

· Walk and stand for extended periods on active construction sites.

· Climb ladders, stairways, rooftops, and elevated work platforms.

· Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach in confined work areas.

· Lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and 50 pounds occasionally.

· Wear all required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, respirators, and fall protection.

· Operate a motor vehicle and travel regularly between jobsites.

· Work in indoor and outdoor environments including extreme temperatures and weather conditions.

· Respond to emergencies, incidents, and after-hours safety concerns as needed.
