Bilingual Safety Assistant
Reeseville, WI 

The Bilingual Safety Assistant position at Specialty Cheese, Inc. is a full-time, hourly position.  Job tasks support the Safety Consultant and overall company safety program.  Work on all three shifts is a must, including at least two days per week of partial off-shift time. 
Job Tasks Include:
  • Managing the Incident / Accident Report form collection box, Worker’s Compensation filing, clinic / doctor follow-up, OccuCare appointments, finding alternative work for any work-related injury restrictions; Assisting with maintaining the Incident spreadsheet, conducting investigations
  • Leading Safety training using Alchemy on all shifts, answering questions regarding the safety training, presenting the Safety portion of the Quality Circle meetings, conducting the Safety portion of the New Employee Orientation training
  • Overall management of the Boot Program including inventory, ordering, issuing, submitting paperwork to HR for deductions, following up on boot inspections to ensure boot quality
  • Managing employee PPE vending machine access and stocking, reviewing Tracker and reporting any payroll deductions to HR, issuing other PPE not stocked in the vending machine, working with Purchasing to order more inventory, acting as the liaison if employees have feedback on PPE
  • Coordination of outside services including annual audiograms, respiratory physical tests (pulmonary), First Aid / CPR / AED training
  • Maintain the Safety Data Sheets in electronic and paper versions
  • Maintain the Emergency Boxes in each department including the appropriate Roll Call lists
  • Conduct physical walk-through audits of the entire facility, report findings, assign CAPAs / fill out Work Requests, follow up on status
  • Act as the first point of contact for any Safety audit or inspection by an outside party
Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Ability to manage time effectively ensuring presence on all three shifts
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of employees in a professional manner
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Act as a liaison between employees and Management bringing up concerns, suggestions, decisions regarding safety issues
  • Understand all written Safety policies, procedures, coach all levels of employees
  • Taking initiative to learn, implement, enforce, or improve Safety
  • Maintain confidentiality of cases and situations
  • Excellent organizational skills
