JOB TITLE: Shop Apprentice
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Tool amp; Die
LOCATION: Broken Arrow, OK
SHOP APPRENTICE SUMMARY
Motivated and dependable TOOLING Shop Apprentice eager to learn machine shop operations and manufacturing processes. Assists experienced machinists with setting up equipment, preparing materials, measuring parts, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn, follows instructions carefully, and develops skills in operating machine tools, reading blueprints, using precision measuring instruments, and performing quality inspections. Committed to producing accurate work while following all workplace safety procedures.
SHOP APPRENTICE RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Assist machinists with machine setup and operation.
  2. Load and unload materials and finished parts.
  3. Measure and inspect parts using basic measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  5. Follow shop safety procedures and company policies.
  6. Learn to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  7. Perform basic machine maintenance and housekeeping tasks.
  8. Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals.
  9. Complete tasks accurately while developing machining skills through hands-on training.

Physical Requirements:
Occasionally: sit, push/pull up to 50 lbs., reach above shoulder with both hands, lift/carry 10-50 lbs.

Constantly: stand, reach outward with both hands, lift/carry up to 50 lbs., handle/finger, wrist and elbow flexion, rotation and articulation.
Other: Near point non-color vision, sense of touch, tolerance for temperature in a non-controlled environment.
