JOB DESCRIPTION:Applications are currently being invited for an hourly Safety and Security position.JOB DUTIES:• Perform Safety and Security duties for the facility.• Monitor CCTVs.• Respond to all emergencies.• Manage the front desk/lobby area and answer the main phone.• Make rounds.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum 18 years of age.• Possession of New York State Peace Officer Certification (a 7-week peace officer academy in upstate NY).• Ability to perform physical job responsibilities.• Must have access to a vehicle and valid, unrestricted driver's license upon hire and continuously thereafter.• Schedule flexibility to permit as needed site visits to NKI to cover various overtime shifts with advance notice.Background Investigation/Justice Center Review Requirements: Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
