Job Summary

Maintenance Mechanic II in our Metals division on 1st shift. Responsible for ensuring all plant equipment and machinery is maintained in working order, building and rebuilding equipment to meet manufacturing needs, and performing general building and site maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain all equipment in the Business unit
  • Keep all equipment in safe operating conditions
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Install new equipment as required
  • Perform minor repairs to fork trucks as required
  • Perform safety inspections on all equipment
  • Schedule repair work on equipment based on production needs
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical problems and some basic controls, such as motor starters, relays, motors, fuses
  • Fabricate fixtures, guards or parts to maintain or improve the equipment
  • Perform typical electrical, plumbing, pipefitting, welding, or machine work to maintain the equipment
  • Make purchase requisitions for repair parts and replacement stock items
  • Look for opportunities to improve equipment efficiency or process improvements
  • Maintain all records of repairs made to equipment
  • Work independently with little supervision
  • Provide the customer with the best value including Cost, Quality, and Delivery
  • Participate in improving our product, processes, equipment, and methods
  • Handle internal and external questions in a prompt professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
  • Continually look for ways to improve job efficiency and performance
  • Perform all reasonably related duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years of progressively more responsible maintenance experience
  • Electrical maintenance experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work overtime
