Position Summary
The West Side Youth Senior Coordinator assists the West Side Youth Ministry Director and West Side Youth staff in running key aspects of West Side Youth, a Gospel-centered ministry for youth grades 6-12. The Youth Ministry Coordinator supports the Youth Ministry Director and Youth Ministry Managers by assisting in the implementation of the vision, mission, and goals of West Side Youth.
West Side Youth is focused on sharing Christ's transforming message with all NYC youth in a place where they will be seen, heard, respected, and valued. West Side Youth is a relational community that meets youth where they are at through authentic, discipling relationships. Our goal is to equip and empower youth to know God, become disciples of Jesus Christ, and to be released into their God-given talents, gifts, and callings.
Job Description
Friday Night Youth Meetings and West Side Youth Events Support
  • Support and help lead Friday night gatherings and West Side Youth events, including setup, breakdown, volunteer coordination, worship logistics, and communication with operations teams, front desk staff, vendors, and other ministry partners to ensure smooth and welcoming programming.
  • Manage key administrative and logistical functions for WSY, including room reservations, setup requests, volunteer scheduling, Planning Center coordination, worship materials, and event support.
  • Build meaningful relationships with middle school youth through consistent presence, engagement, and discipleship within the life of the ministry.

General Office Administration and Ministry Management
  • Provide administrative and operational support for West Side Youth by managing calendars, ministry communications, volunteer processes, background checks, required forms, inventory, supplies, and event logistics.
  • Coordinate and oversee ministry spaces, room reservations, setup plans, and event environments to ensure all weekly programming, retreats, and special events are organized, welcoming, and executed smoothly.
  • Support the overall health and effectiveness of WSY by researching engaging activities, maintaining organized systems and storage, identifying operational improvements, and implementing practical solutions to ministry needs.

Database Management (training in Planning Center provided by Redeemer)
  • Create and manage online registrations for events and programs
  • Update youth, family, and volunteer records and information
  • Identify and execute new ways to optimize West Side Youth database

Communications Management
  • Manage communications and scheduling for WSY, including social media, website updates, event promotion, and responding to ministry inquiries.
Responsibilities with the Redeemer West Side Staff team
  • Participate in regular RWS staff meetings, trainings and events
  • Regularly worship at Redeemer West Side on Sunday mornings to allow for congregation interaction
  • Maintain clear and timely communication across ministry and church teams by coordinating with Communications, Operations, and Events staff and utilizing internal platforms such as Slack, Asana, and Tallie.
  • Support the organization and alignment of ministry programming by maintaining the RWS ministry calendar and ensuring effective coordination of WSY events and initiatives.

  • Available to work evenings, weekends, and a flexible ministry schedule
  • Passion for Redeemer's vision and serving youth and families in NYC
  • Committed to the Gospel and the theology of the Reformed faith
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent ministry experience preferred
  • Mature Christian character with integrity, humility, adaptability, and a teachable spirit
  • Strong team player who thrives in dynamic environments and handles confidential information with care
  • Able to serve and connect well within a culturally and socio-economically diverse community
  • Willing to embrace all aspects of youth ministry, including behind-the-scenes responsibilities
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to work within the unique rhythms of ministry life, including evenings, weekends, and nontraditional hours common to serving youth and families in New York City
Skills/Experience:
  • Excellent communication, service, and interpersonal skills
  • Minimum two years experience (volunteer or paid) participating in children's, youth, or college ministry in an administrative capacity
  • Attentive to and works appropriately with a culturally and socio-economically diverse population
  • Demonstrated ability to creatively plan, execute, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities, programs, and events with strong time management
  • Ability to manage full administrative details of a department / ministry area

Preferred:
  • Knowledgeable in video and audio tech
  • Proficiency with Google Workplace and MSOffice, Asana, Slack, database, and social networking applications
  • Fluent in developing, executing, and maintaining social media presence
