Job description

Quixote rents production trailers, trucks, lighting and grip and other equipment to support a wide range of productions including long-form television and feature film, as well as high-end photo shoots and commercials. Job Summary:

This role is responsible for performing mechanical repairs and service operations on light- and heavy-duty equipment and vehicles, including inspection, repair, fabrication, rebuilding, and ongoing maintenance. The position requires the ability to perform both light and heavy manual labor, work flexible hours as business needs dictate, and operate under the general supervision of the Fleet Manager.

What You'll Do:

  • Service and maintain custom trailers and RVโ€™s.

  • Diagnose issues and determine best course of action to remedy the problem(s).

  • Provide and document complete diagnostic tests and repair/replacement services to fleet management team.

  • Track all parts and materials used in repairs/replacements.

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance.

  • Communicate regularly with fleet management team on issues and update on project completion regularly.

  • Perform pre-delivery inspection.

  • Assemble RV structure, wall, and roof, fresh water/waste plumbing.

  • Perform basic welding tasks.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain RV appliances, LPG system, A/C system.

  • Install electrical wiring and balance electrical load and entertainment and satellite systems (Winegard, Motosat, Kingdone).

  • Repair and maintain cabinetry.

  • Install, repair, and maintain braking and towing systems.

  • Plan workload according to oral and written directions and complete assignments on or before the scheduled completion date.

  • Maintain interior and exterior cleanliness of the lot and building at all times; perform these duties when vehicles are not available.

  • Process all paperwork regarding equipment damage and report to management.

  • Dispose of hazardous waste materials properly.

  • Follow and adhere to safety rules, regulations, and the proper use of equipment relevant to each job skill and qualification.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • Have 4+ years of RV repair and maintenance experience and/or other relevant experience, including electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work.

  • Have experience in PDIs, wall, roof, and structural repairs and replacements, welding, fresh water and waste plumbing, RV appliance troubleshooting, LPG system maintenance, RV A/C system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, RV electrical wiring and balancing electrical loads, carpentry, RV entertainment and satellite systems, RV brake system maintenance and repair, and RV towing system maintenance and repair.

  • Hold RVIA certification, preferably.

  • Be flexible to support rental operations during non-business hours, including holidays, weekends, and evenings, as needed.

  • Possess basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Be able to multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Be detail-oriented and able to meet or exceed deadlines.

  • Have knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment and power-driven tools.

  • Possess a valid driverโ€™s license and a safe driving record.

  • Have working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

  • Be reliable and possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire for continual professional growth.
