Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated General Laborer to join our manufacturing team. This position involves a variety of hands-on tasks that contribute to the smooth operation of the production process. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, performing physical tasks such as palletizing, cement lining, sandblasting, painting, assembly, lifting heavy parts, operating machines, and maintaining warehouse cleanliness.


Potential Key Responsibilities:

  • Palletizing: Safely and efficiently organize and stack products onto pallets for shipment, transfer, or storage.
  • Cement Lining: Apply cement lining to ductile iron fittings by hand or equipment as needed, ensuring quality and consistency in the application.
  • Machine Operation: Operate manufacturing machinery safely and effectively, adhering to all safety protocols and production schedules. May involve setup, part placement, and monitoring. This does not require programing or specialized expertise.
  • Sandblasting: Prepare and clean surfaces of metal, concrete, or other materials using sandblasting equipment to remove debris, rust, or coatings.
  • Painting: Assist with painting and coating surfaces of manufactured parts using various methods, ensuring a smooth and even finish.
  • Assembly: Perform mechanical assembly of parts and components according to detailed specifications and blueprints, ensuring proper fit and function.
  • Lifting Parts: Physically lift and move parts, materials, or products of varying weights and sizes throughout the production area.
  • Warehouse Cleaning & Upkeep: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by sweeping, disposing of waste, and cleaning machinery and workstations regularly.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or general labor role is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to50 lbs consistently) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Basic knowledge of machine operation and safety protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and potentially noisy environment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs consistently or as needed.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including dusty or gritty conditions, and wear protective equipment as necessary.
