Reporting to the Associate Director, Engineering - Insights Retention, this engineer will help enhance and grow the analytics products that demonstrate the value of our services to the customers using them. This role will build our product features as a part of a cross-functional product team and will collaborate with more senior engineers to grow while also mentoring more junior engineers to improve our overall execution practices.
Please note that this is a hybrid role based in Seattle, with an expectation to be in the office 2-3 days per week at our 255 King St location. Candidates must be based in the Seattle metro area or able to relocate independently within 90 days of their start date. Occasional travel will be required for team on-sites.
What you'll do:
  • Design and build scalable full-stack services using Ruby on Rails, React, and GraphQL
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ship high-impact features that improve customer reporting and analytics
  • Expand and maintain the existing web application
  • Debug and resolve issues quickly and efficiently
  • Contribute to architectural discussions, code reviews, and tech debt prioritization
  • Advocate for high engineering standards, including test coverage, documentation, and observability
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support system reliability and respond to production issues
  • Collaborate flexibly across time zones, as needed, to support distributed teams and stakeholder
  • Work with product managers and designers to scope and deliver 0-1 product features
  • Identify areas for growth and iteration on our application stack and advocate for them on the roadmap
  • Build and maintain integrations with data warehouses or external APIs
  • Troubleshoot data discrepancies and work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues

What success looks like:
  • Deliver projects on time, within scope, and with high stakeholder satisfaction
  • Maintain high system uptime and low defect rates through strong testing and observability practices
  • Partner effectively with product, design, data, or other teams, contributing meaningfully to team goals and alignment
  • Complete tasks independently, resolve issues proactively, and accurately track personal work
  • Contribute to improved team velocity through planning, estimation, and delivery best practices
  • Continuously seek out new technologies or practices to improve engineering outcomes

What you'll bring:
  • 3-5 years of experience in software development with a focus on full-stack development
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Ruby on Rails, Java, C#, Python, or equivalent on the backend and Typescript, React, Angular, Vue, or equivalent on the frontend
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL or Snowflake
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and identify root causes

The target base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $149,630, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including stock options and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations. We review all employee pay and compensation programs annually using Radford Global Compensation Databaseat minimum to ensure competitive and fair pay.
