Responsibilities:
- PM is responsible for the financial outcome of each job. This is driven by design, efficient execution of the fabrication and installation plan for each job, monitoring costs (hours and materials) throughout the lifecycle of the project, problem identification and mitigation, and efficient coordination with the client.
- Work with project team (estimator, draftsman, shop foreman, layout engineer) to fully understand scope of project. Understand cost impacts of design and fabrication decisions.
- Manage and drive the design process for each job and each part. Project success is heavily impacted by product design that meets the designer’s intent and can be fabricated in an economical and efficient manner.
- Coordinate shop drawings with draftsperson and submittal process with customers.
- Coordinate contract paperwork (safety plans, warranties, LEED info, etc.) with customers on larger projects.
- Monitor project progress and budget for early signs of cost overages and schedule delays. Once identified, develop action plan to mitigate.
- Coordinate with shop foreman to ensure fabrication is completed on schedule, to specification, and to dimensional and aesthetic quality specified for the project.
- Coordinate field measures and install schedules with customer, shop foreman and layout engineer.
- Invoice customers (progress and final).
- Develop and drive the schedule to comply with the contractor’s project schedule.
- Develop hours and billings projections by project.
- Manage up to approximately 20 jobs at various stages of completion at the same time with up to a combined contract value of $5,000,000.
- Order project-specific materials
- PM’s are one of the Company’s primary interfaces with the client. Jobs need to perform well financially, and our customers need to be happy.
- Problem solve! Foresight will mitigate problems, but they are sure to occur. Problem identification is key; developing and negotiating the path forward is the name of the game.
Technical Skills:
- Custom metal fabrication experience or knowledge
