Job description

HYBRID

Who we are: Groups360 is a booking engine for meeting space founded in 2014 by former Gaylord Entertainment executives Dave Kloeppel and Kemp Gallineau. Groups360 was created with a singular goal, to empower meeting planners by bringing innovation, transparency, and simplicity to the decades-old problem of booking groups. The company's technology, GroupSync, enables suppliers to distribute inventory, engage with planners, and optimize group revenue. GroupSync also equips planners to search and shop hotels worldwide and book rooms and space directly, online, or through a simplified RFP process. GroupSync is the first distribution channel to offer online booking for both group hotel rooms and meeting space. Groups360 has offices in Nashville and London.

Our Partners: In 2019, major hospitality players Accor, Hilton, IHG and Marriott, invested a combined $50 million in Groups360 to help fuel instant-booking development. In 2022, the world's largest alternative asset manager Blackstone Innovations Partners, New York Hedge fund Fir Tree Partners, and property and technology investment firm, Zigg Capital invested a combined $35 million in Groups360 to help drive the industry wide transformation, making group travel simple.

Life at Groups360: Groups360 is an innovative, high-growth company with offices in Nashville, London and Singapore. Groups360 is an equal opportunity employer, and our dedication to promoting diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion is reflected in the foundation of all we do.

The Role: The Software Engineer IV will work within a highly collaborative team in an AI-augmented development environment, where fluency with AI coding tools is core to how the team ships software. This senior-level role is instrumental in developing complex software systems, providing technical guidance, and driving innovation in our engineering practices, leveraging both traditional application development skills and experience but also influencing how we use AI to accelerate delivery without sacrificing quality or security.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver code for a tech stack comprised of ReactJS, Ruby/Rails, Python, .NET, and PostgreSQL, using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar) as a standard part of your workflow.
  • Write effective prompts and context for AI tools to generate high-quality, idiomatic code, and know when a task is better done by hand.
  • Critically review and validate AI-generated code - your own and teammates' - catching subtle bugs, security issues, hallucinated APIs, and architectural drift that AI tools commonly introduce.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure development efforts, including AI-assisted work, stay aligned with business goals and customer needs.
  • Focus on front- and back-end development of a platform built as a microservices architecture.
  • Work at a fast, sustainable pace, integrating frequently with our deployment-safe, test-driven CI/CD pipeline.
  • Build unit tests - including AI-assisted test generation - to ensure solid coverage and workmanship.
  • Perform detailed code evaluations to guarantee quality and compliance with organizational standards, and help evolve our code review practices to account for AI-generated contributions.
  • Actively collaborate with Product, Development, Architecture, and QA teams to keep implementation strategy aligned with strategic vision.
  • Understand Gitflow and code branch management.
  • Troubleshoot operational health and performance issues, documenting findings clearly to build institutional knowledge (including knowledge that helps AI tools work more effectively on our codebase over time, e.g., context files, coding standards docs).
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members - including how to use AI tools responsibly and effectively, not just how to prompt them.
  • Exercise judgment on when to trust AI output versus when to slow down and verify, and understand how AI-assisted velocity interacts with iterative development and technical debt.
  • Stay current on AI-assisted development tools and practices, and proactively research new tools, techniques, or workflows that could improve team output. This includes an understanding of how agents, rules, and skills work within agentic models.
  • Other duties as required.

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of development experience.
  • 5+ years' experience focused in one of the following: ReactJS or Python (strong preference for candidates with experience in both).
  • Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar) in a professional development workflow - required, not incidental exposure.
  • Track record of reviewing and correcting AI-generated code, with the judgment to identify where it's wrong, insecure, or architecturally inconsistent.
  • Fluent in designing and consuming RESTful microservices, including asynchronous and event-driven architectures.
  • Experienced with mature, enterprise-tier patterns of software design, code reusability, and extensibility.

Nice to Have:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and group communication and presentation skills; able to influence effectively across functions, business units, and leadership levels.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-driven and execution-oriented, ready to take ownership and get results.
  • Strong empathy for customers and a passion for revenue and growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint.

Core Business Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. M-F, Hybrid; these hours may vary depending upon your position and work requirements.

Status: Exempt

Location: Brentwood, TN. HYBRID (3 days in-office, 2 days remote)
