To thrive as a Ruby on Rails Contractor, you need strong proficiency in Ruby, Rails framework, web development fundamentals, and experience with relational databases, typically demonstrated through a portfolio or relevant work history. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS or Heroku), and testing frameworks such as RSpec is often required. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to work independently are standout soft skills for this role.
