What You Will Do:

We are seeking an Industrial Engineer to join the Manufacturing Support team at the Collins Aerospace Decorah facility. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Industrial Engineering to enhance manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. From tactical problem-solving to strategic planning, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing production operations. You will support various manual or automated build and test operations within the Decorah Operations Team. This role will work with multiple product lines, but have a focus on the sensors and fire protection production activities. Define and implement technical solutions, tools, and manufacturing layouts to enhance efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness. Collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability and refine product designs through technical insights. Lead cross-functional initiatives focused on cost control, inventory management, and Lean principles to drive process improvement. Solve complex problems and innovate new assembly processes through data analysis, research, and emerging methodologies. Manage medium-complexity projects, estimate timelines and costs, and validate cost requirements to support decision-making.

What You Will Learn:

Enhance your technical skills in a manufacturing environment Improve your skills in continuous improvement processes NADCAP requirements and compliance activities with special processes Develop CAD and tooling design expertise to improve the efficiency of manufacturing operations. CORE operating system and frame work within the RTX business system. Hardware and software integration with PLC and computer interfaces. Software testing with the development team understanding root causes and offering solutions. Creating documentation around testing software and documenting the software requirements.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency in driving process enhancements and operational efficiency through continuous improvement methodologies *Experience may be obtained through on‑the‑job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

The salary range for this role is 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance. This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
