MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-driven, and customer-focused Systems Engineer to join our team in Laurel, MD.

You will play a critical role in supporting the enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global, mission-focused workforce. This position supports the high-visibility Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization, responsible for the delivery and security of MPO's Enterprise Information Technology (EIT), the foundation for enterprise-wide services. As a Systems Engineer, you will work alongside customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and vendors to support the implementation and compliance of advanced EIT capabilities through Data Center & Computer Services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • OpenStack Utility Cloud: Design, deploy, and maintain multi-tenant enterprise OpenStack platforms
  • Architect High Availability topologies to eliminate single points of failure
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible and Puppet
  • Automation scripts and tools in Python and Bash
  • Database support using MySQL
  • Engineer and harden enterprise Linux systems; enforce identity and access management (IAM) frameworks grounded in least-privilege principles.
  • Utilize Naemon and diagnostic tooling to execute systemic performance analysis and proactively address health degraded states.
  • Executing Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols to minimize downtime during critical incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline with 14+ years of relevant experience as a Systems Engineer OR 19 years of Systems Engineering experience with no degree.
  • IAM II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment.  Acceptable certifications include
    CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)
  • Red Hat versions 8 and 9
  • Experience with Grafana
  • Python development language
  • Experience with Naemon
  • Familiarity with Pagent and Putty

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MachineShop experience
  • Hypervisor virtual machine experience
  • Understanding of Return-to-Service (RTS) protocols

Clearance Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations

The projected compensation range for this position is $128,000.00-$214,400.00.
