Transportation Coordinator

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

No two days are exactly the same-and that's what makes this role exciting.

Your day begins by making sure RT's transportation services are ready to go. You'll review driver assignments, confirm routes, address last-minute schedule changes, and ensure individuals are transported safety and on time to RT programs. Throughout the day, you'll serve as the central point of communication for divers, responding to questions, coordinating route adjustments, solving transportation request, you'll think quickly, adjust plans and keep everyone informed.

You will also spend time coaching and supporting your team of Drivers. From conducting performance conversations and coordinating training to recognizing great work and helping employees grow, you'll build a positive team culture centered on safety, accountability, and excellent customer service. Behind the scenes, you'll oversee RT's fleet by coordinating maintenance, inspections, repairs and required documentation to keep every vehicle safe, reliable and compliant. You'll also review transportation records, billing documentation, and regulatory requirements to ensure everything is accurate and audit-ready.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Ability to possess and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to possess and maintain CPR and First Aid Instructor Certification.
  • Ability to lift, carry and move people safely.
  • Satisfactory Abuser Registry, Web-database and criminal background checks as defined in OAC 5123-2-02.
  • Covered by a valid liability insurance as specified by Ohio. Maintain the ability to pass a drug screen.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license with less than six(6) points on record at any time.

WORK SCHEDULE

The position typically works Monday- Friday, 6:30 am-3:30pm with an hour unpaid lunch.
