Job description

What you will do:
Licensed as a Respiratory care Practitioner with extensive knowledge and training in the assessment of patients and the performance of all respiratory care procedures including advanced critical respiratory care procedures, and advanced diagnostic testing within the scope of the cardiopulmonary department.
 
Required Education: 
High school diploma or equivalent.               

Preferred Education:
Graduate of an approved school for Respiratory Therapy and licensed as an RCP in the state of Texas.

Required Skills:
Extensive training and experience in patient assessment and performing all respiratory therapeutic, critical care and diagnostic procedures.
 
Preferred Skills:
In depth training and experience in patient assessment and performing all respiratory therapeutic, critical care and advanced diagnostic procedures.
 
Required Licensure/Registration/Certification:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), BCLS, ACLS< PALS< and NRP.
 
Preferred Licensure /Registration /Certification:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Texas Medical Board Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP), BCLS, ACLS, NRP, and ACCS
   
Required Experience:
Experience in patient assessment and performance of clinical respiratory therapy procedures, critical care procedures and ventilator management, diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases and EKG’s on newborns through adults.
 
Preferred Experience:
Extensive experience in patient assessment and performance of clinical respiratory therapy procedures, critical care procedures and ventilator management and advanced diagnostic testing including arterial blood gases and EKG’s on newborns through adults along with bronchoscopies and pulmonary function testing.
