Job description

Job Summary

This position provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the supervision of the Clinical Director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Certification through one of the following bodies: Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), American Board of Sleep Medicine (RST) or National Board of Respiratory Care (CPFT, RPFT, CRT, RRT). -OR-
  • Successful completion of the A-Step Sleep Technologists Education Program through The American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
  • CPR certification or must obtain at next available class upon hire.

  • Requires the ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously and appropriately prioritize based on patient needs.

  • Requires general awareness and understanding of legal implication of patient care activities and self-performance while performing job duties. 
  • Requires the ability to be discreet and protect the integrity of any confidential matter or information encountered during the performance of job duties.

Working Conditions

  • Typical hospital clinical environment with frequent standing and walking. 
  • Work may be subject to interruptions. 
  • Risk of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious, electrical and radiation hazards.

  • Requires ability to work any shift, occasional extended hours, holidays and/or weekends based on the needs of the department.
