Job Summary:
The Department of Athletics is seeking an Associate Head Coach: Men's Rowing. This is a full-time (1.00FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The mission of theOSUDepartment of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.). Oregon State Athletics is committed to creating and maintaining an environment that is diverse, equitable, inclusive, and one which fosters a sense of belonging. Key Responsibilities:
- Scouts future opponents, retrieves film and develops scouting reports for the Head Coach of a Nonrevenue Olympic sport.
- Provides consultation and expert advice to head coach and team members.
- Prepares, plans, conducts, and evaluates practice sessions and teaches individuals and groups of players specific tasks and skills during season and off-season.
- Coordinates, oversees and participates in the recruitment of student-athletes including negotiation of scholarship offers, distribution and communication of recruiting information, off campus visits to assess talent and meet with prospective student-athletes and their parents.
- Ensures compliance with University policy, state and federal regulations and NCAA, PAC12 rules and regulations.
- Plans long and short term team objectives under the leadership of the head coach.
- Establishes and reinforces requirements for team members in terms of academic and athletic progress.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in field of choice.
- Three years of full-time experience as an Assistant Rowing Coach in anNCAA/IRAprogram or similar experience leading a high performance program.
- Demonstrated familiarity withNCAArules and regulations.
- Experience providing leadership for a diverse group of employees and student athletes.
- This position will often be required to lift/carry/push/pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated success at the Division I or Division III level as a Head Rowing Coach.
- Able to communicate in both written and verbal form
