Job description

Technical Lead – React UI & AI Integration About the Team
Here at BTI360, we’ve built a culture that’s passionate about developing software engineers. Software doesn't build itself. People do.  In fact, teams of people do.  That's why our primary focus is on developing better craftsmen, better teammates, and better technical leaders.  By putting people first, we're not just giving our teammates more opportunities to grow, we're also raising the bar of the software we ship. BTI360 previously has been voted 10 years in a row as a TOP Place to Work by the Washington Business Journal.  We are seeking a high-performing Hands-on Technical Lead who is equally comfortable architecting complex systems and diving deep into the codebase. In this role, you won't just manage the sidelines—you will actively design, code, and deploy solutions while guiding a talented engineering team. You will bridge the gap between high-level mission objectives and concrete technical execution, serving as both the strategic technical anchor and a core individual contributor for a mission-critical Sponsor-facing effort.  In this role you will:  • Lead and execute as the primary engagement technical lead for a mission-critical effort, directly translating complex mission needs and business objectives into robust engineering decisions and high-quality code.  • Co-author, architect, and lead the team building a cutting-edge Cognitive User Interface and supporting backend services, enabling users to seamlessly interact with, refine, and drive agentic AI workflows configured via BTI360's Horizon AgentFlow.  • Drive end-to-end technical integration by actively developing and coordinating across React-based frontends, Python backend services, secure cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps pipelines, and specialized MCP/tool providers.  • Partner hands-on with domain-specialized teams to expose and validate MCP capabilities, APIs, and models—actively debugging integration gaps, isolating system issues, and writing the fixes needed to optimize underperforming workflows.  • Architect and implement robust human-in-the-loop feedback mechanisms, ensuring the system inherently supports user review, refinement, explainability, and the continuous measurement of workflow performance over time.  Required Qualifications:  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph   • Hands-on, full-stack software engineering background with proven experience making architectural decisions where frontend UX, backend services, data lines, and workflow orchestration seamlessly integrate.  • Strong proficiency in writing and reviewing production-grade code across React/TypeScript interfaces and Python backend services.  • Ability to debug across complex, distributed systems—diagnosing whether an integration gap stems from the UI, API contracts, model/tool behavior, or underlying cloud infrastructure.  • Core understanding of LLM-enabled applications and modern API/data integration patterns.  Desired Qualifications:  • Experience building and scaling enterprise applications using modern Python frameworks (e.g., FastAPI, Flask, Django).  • Experience deploying to and managing secure cloud environments (AWS or GCP); specific exposure to Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) or air-gapped cloud infrastructure is highly desirable.  • Experience designing and optimizing Agentic AI workflows, including tool-calling, human-in-the-loop feedback mechanisms, and agent evaluation frameworks.  • Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) or building custom tool-provider interfaces for AI agents.  • Experience with cloud-native engineering and infrastructure-as-code using Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform in secure, controlled, or air-gapped deployment environments.  • A data-driven mindset: experience defining or evaluating system success using product or mission KPIs to prioritize engineering backlogs.
