Job description


Under designated supervision, performs retail and food (not to exceed the level of HPP 2 NA-2 or M-02) duties in a facility that offers both services. Work includes preparing and serving simple foods and beverages, stocking merchandise, operating point-of-sale equipment, and providing frontline customer service.

DAYS/HOURS OF AVAILABILITY REQUIRED: MONDAY - SUNDAY, 6:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT INCLUDING EVENINGS, WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS. SCHEDULE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITH PROPER NOTICE.
Job Qualifications
Education: High school or equivalent. Creditable job-related experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a 9-month for 9-month basis.
If a sufficient number of qualified candidates do not apply, the minimum qualifications may be lowered without reposting.
Major Duties
Operates ovens, roller grills, or similar kitchen equipment in environments where set procedures are followed and no cooking skills are required.
Heats, assembles, or otherwise prepares food items to support heat and eat and quick service restaurants (QSR). Ensures all condiments or complimentary foods are available during service times. May include stocking of grab-and-go or quick heat items. Maintains required sanitation and cleanliness of food preparation and service areas as well as all equipment utilized.
Transports merchandise from stockroom to sales floor and replenishes stock in a neat, presentable manner following instructions.
Conducts periodic stock counts; reports out of stock, slow moving, defective or damaged merchandise to management. Performs random price verifications and initiates corrective actions as instructed.
Stocks food, beverage, or retail supplies prior to service periods and replenishes items throughout the shift. Assists in maintaining accurate and up to date retail shelf labels.
Maintains required documentation including returned inventory logs, daily cash reports, and other related records. Operates a cash register or other point of sale equipment; rings sales, makes change, and processes cash, credit card, and check transactions. May enter new accounts, process refunds, and perform other transactional functions as directed.
Provides a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent, excellent service. Greets each customer upon contact and/or line of sight, actively listens to needs, and provides solutions to enhance satisfaction and loyalty. Builds trust and creates a welcoming environment to support a personalized customer experience. Resolves customer issues at the lowest possible level and communicates obstacles to management.
Actively communicates/promotes the benefits of the Military Star credit card to customers in order to drive sales growth and increase customer loyalty.
Performs other duties as assigned.
