Job description

This employee acts as a bridge between the local branch management team and the central dispatch department. In addition, the employee will drive timely completion of the daily routing/dispatching duties, as well as timely completion of responsibilities within the Logistics Department.
  • Responsible for performing all MobileCast dispatching activities
  • Routes all same day/next day deliveries according to Logistics policy and procedures
  • Responsible for communication to the branches regarding errors in addresses, time frames, and any other work order issues that negatively impact the routing of a delivery
  • Updates TIMS with customer notes and updates work order ship dates as necessary
  • Responsible for communication to the branches regarding issues that impact the ability of the Dispatcher to effectively route a work order to a driver in the field
  • Responsible for monitoring a driver's progress during the day, and communicating back to the branch level any issues related to impacting missed time windows
  • Monitors delivery staffing requirements based upon order volumes and makes appropriate adjustments to staff and/or process as appropriate
  • Reviews Reports at the Central Dispatch level to monitor driver compliance of route order completed via the MobileCast & Roadnet software system
  • Coordinates with Region management on all action plans that would ensure driver compliance with targeted financial objectives
  • Complies with and adheres to all regulatory compliance areas, policies, procedures, and "best practices" according to Logistics, DOT, ACHC, and local state labor laws
  • Ensures patients do not suffer service failures and communicates with the servicing branch of undeliverable stops
  • Demonstrates professional etiquette and courtesy when interfacing with customers and branches regarding issues that impact the ability of the Dispatcher to effectively route a work order to a driver in the field
  • Responds to telephone, fax, and e-mail questions/problems from branches
  • Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality is considered an essential job function of this position
Education/Experience:
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • should have knowledge of Word Processing software
Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
