The Experience You'll Create:
As an OCS Route Support Merchandiser, you will support our Route Manager by filling in for OCS Route Merchandisers, assisting with data entry and field implementations, and enhancing customer service through constructive feedback. You will identify training needs among drivers and communicate observations to your supervisor, ensuring smooth operations on the road and in-house.
  • Route Coverage: Provide coverage and support for OCS Route Merchandisers as needed. Coordinate and schedule delivery orders to ensure timely and accurate service, and monitor route performance to identify opportunities for improvement while recognizing effective practices. Ensure all delivery orders are completed accurately and properly recorded as delivered.
  • OCS Operations Support: Provide coverage for the OCS Manager by supporting daily operational coordination and execution. Assist with operational planning and task prioritization to support overall efficiency and consistency within OCS operations.
  • Delivery & Inventory Management: Ensure OCS Route Drivers are fully equipped with the correct products and supplies for assigned routes. Load OCS trucks according to delivery schedules and order requirements, manage delivery order changes, and review and reconcile truck inventories to maintain accuracy and accountability.
  • Machine Management: Support new machine installations by coordinating initial product orders and installing non‑plumbed brewers and coolers at customer locations. Manage product returns from the field, notify OCS Route Managers of idle or underperforming accounts, and assist with seasonal or final product adjustments to ensure smooth account transitions.
  • Training & Support: Train OCS Route Merchandisers on operational standards and procedures, reinforce compliance expectations, and provide support for ongoing performance issues as needed.
  • Customer Feedback & Issue Resolution: Interact professionally with customers during route coverage to gather feedback and relay information to appropriate internal teams. Respond to customer issues promptly by conducting on‑site follow‑ups when necessary and communicating clearly to ensure timely resolution.
  • Machine Cleanliness: Inspect and maintain cleanliness standards for all machines in the field to ensure professionalism and customer satisfaction.
  • Professional Standards: Ensure OCS Route Merchandisers maintain a professional appearance and follow established uniform and professional appearance guidelines.
  • Safety & Compliance: Promote and model a clean, safe work environment while remaining knowledgeable of and compliant with current operational processes and procedures.
  • Communication: Communicate promptly with Account Managers, Route Managers, and leadership regarding critical issues that may impact account retention or present potential business risk.
  • Special Projects: Complete special projects and additional assignments as directed by the leadership team.

Ingredients for Thriving:
  • High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; must meet all DOT requirements and pass a comprehensive background and driving history check.
  • Chauffeur's license (where required)
  • Prior experience in delivery, route driving, merchandising, or customer service preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to read, speak, and understand English.
  • Proficient with computers, iPads, GPS technology, and basic inventory systems; ability to operate box trucks preferred.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks (if applicable to your region)
  • Results‑oriented, adaptable, and able to balance business needs with customer requests; demonstrates consistent follow‑through and quickly applies new information.
  • Detail‑oriented, professional, and comfortable working in structured environments with routine tasks; able to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong visual merchandising abilities and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming product presentation.
