Description
The incumbent in this position will primarily: greet customers (internal and external) with exceptional customer service on a continuous basis; assist customers at the register in making their final purchase by accepting cash, credit or debit and offering accurate change back when needed; gather, sort, process, stage and/or stock all product/merchandise. Learn company product types, categories color rotation and pricing guidelines with the ability to distinguish quality sellable products, recyclable items and salvage items from donated goods; clean and test products and store equipment daily. Ensure workstations and surrounding areas are fully stocked and operational. Infrequent travel may be required.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in the above listed skills with prior customer service experience preferably in a retail environment.
Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, listed above which are representative of the Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities required; in addition to the physical demands of the job which include:
Mobility - required to stand; frequently walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Dexterity - requires hands to manipulate, feel, reach, lift and/or carry. Sensory - able to see objects, colors at close range or distance, peripheral, and depth vision, communicate orally with normal hearing decibel.
Lifting - frequently lifts and/or carries 25 to 50 lbs. using safety measures in place. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Hours are primarily daytime hours with some evening work and rotating weekends.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or GED required plus 6 months of Customer Service Experience or Retail Management Certificate (Customer Service Training Certificate may be substituted for 3 months of related experience). (
Bilingual is a plus)
