We are looking for:

Syensqo is seeking a Rotating Reliability Engineer who will take on accountability for the sites' Reliability program for Rotating Equipment with focus on early detection of defects and defect elimination. This individual will be accountable for asset performance in relation to sites OEE program, have knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and knowledge of financial resources, tools, and reports. The Reliability Engineer will have the ability to manage and direct capital projects along with management of change (MOC) and have knowledge of information systems and CMMS.

Experience with various rotating equipment like pumps (centrifugal and positive displacement), compressors, agitators, blowers and exhaust fans and knowledge of Pump sealing system, API seal piping plans and lubrication systems will be valuable.

  • Support Maintenance team on repair planning for critical rotating equipment failures

  • Active involvement in site OEE program and maintaining equipment Bad Actors List

  • Facilitate and participate in reliability related improvement initiatives

  • Develop and optimize the maintenance strategies of Critical rotating assets

  • Responsible for improving MTBF & MTTR of critical rotating assets

  • Conduct root cause failure analysis on major equipment failures and manage improvement action items

  • Perform equipment criticality analysis and ensure adequate spare parts for all critical assets

  • Design preventative/predictive/condition based monitoring program for critical assets

  • Interpret reliability data and provide guidance on failure mitigation/reliability improvement plans

  • Actively engage in capital projects to ensure proper equipment selection, installation and spare parts requirement 

  • Execute projects related to equipment or process changes for improved asset reliability

  • Assist with the design and management of sites Mechanical Integrity program

  • Key member in the development and execution of the shutdown timelines. Ensures that all critical reliability tasks are performed during the shutdowns.

You will bring: 

  • Mechanical Engineer with P. Eng designation or pursuing

  • 5 years of chemical plant experience

  • Experience with API and CSA standards 

  • Experience with CMMS (preferably SAP)

You will get:

  • The Canadian annual base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: $98,000 to $125,000.  Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate, such as skills, experience, qualifications, etc. and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives
  • 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations

  • Training platform for all employees

  • Free well-being sessions (physical and psychological)

Location: Based at the Niagara Falls Site. Not eligible for routine work from home or remote location
