Job description

DOF is a world-class offshore construction support, survey and IRM contractor.

DOF is a leading provider of subsea services in all the major oil and gas production regions around the world. With world class ROVs (Remote Operated Vehicles), Survey systems, and a fleet of offshore construction vessels, the group combines expertise and technology to deliver integrated subsea solutions to the offshore oil and gas industry.

As part of the 5-Year IRM Offshore Services project, we are looking to expand our team offshore of offshore Subsea Engineers and Subsea Shift Supervisors. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are eager to learn and work in a dynamic team environment.

This is a permanent Offshore position with occasional onshore requirements during times of standby and project requirements. Expected 28 day/28 day rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid Project team in procedural development for offshore ROV operations;
  • Create/Write Mobilization Plans/Managing Mobilizations/on deck operations;
  • Create/write offshore work instructions as per DOF guidelines and Cenovus Instruction;
  • On shift Operational Control directing operations on deck, as well as subsea, per planned procedures/work instructions;
  • Completing / Signing off Procedures / work / closeout reports as necessary;
  • Completing/Writing Field Reports & DPRs;
  • Completing/Generating and facilitating Lift Plans as required for operations;
  • Creating/Facilitating Risk Assessments on board the vessel or onshore;
  • Facilitating and drafting MOC's as per Cenovus and DOF Management of change process;
  • Liaising with offshore Client Representative;
  • Liaising with Vessel or subsea Teams for aiding onshore project team with tooling designs/creation;
  • Review offshore procedures (facilitating marine and subsea departments comments as necessary); Updating documentation as required by project
  • Witness/executing and participation in Site Integration Testing, and Tooling Factory Acceptance Testing as required by onshore team;
  • Willingness to Learn basic rigging design and procedural writing.
  • Supervise/Lead offshore operations (Control) as dictated by Client and DOF Onshore Procedures
  • Create Presentations as required for Offshore Operation Meetings
  • Facilitate Offshore Risk Assessments/Tool Box Talks/meetings as required by project operations
  • Work with Vessel Department Heads (ROV, Marine, & Survey) in completion of offshore operations
  • Supervise Mobilization activities as dictated by Project Team and Client operations
  • Supervise Project Engineers with planning activities during offshore operations

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Subsea IRM experience;
  • Supervisory Experience in Subsea Construction;
  • Supervisory Experience with offshore operations;
  • Engineering or Technology degree will be considered an asset though not a necessity;
  • Experience with controlling vessel operations during subsea (Diving, ROV or Survey, or similar) activities is considered an asset;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Programs (Excel/MS Word etc.)
  • Years of experience will be recognized as a supplement to post secondary education.

The following is not required, but would be considered an asset:

  • Experience with developing lift plans;
  • Experience with facilitating MOC’s/HIRA’s;
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Similar.
