Job description

Job Description

Build a Career That Shapes Atlantic Canadaโ€™s Infrastructure

The Strategic Development Program (SDP) is a fast-track rotational role for driven individuals who want to have a meaningful career โ€“ not just fill a seat. Youโ€™ll learn the full business, earn as you grow and be rewarded for your results.

The Opportunity

This isnโ€™t an entry-level role where youโ€™re handed a script and a headset. The Strategic Development Program is a structured, phased journey through every corner of our business โ€“ from the warehouse/yard to contract negotiation โ€“ designed to turn high-potential people into high-performing leaders.

Youโ€™ll move through logistics, operations, inside sales and account management with real responsibility at every stage. By end of the program, you wonโ€™t just understand our business โ€“ youโ€™ll be shaping it.

Top performers are recognized and rewarded here. We offer competitive base pay, profit sharing, and a pension plan with employer contributions โ€“ because the people who drive our results should share in them. Your earning potential grows as fast as your skills do.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary that grows with your performance and progression
  • Profit Sharing โ€“ when the business wins, so do you
  • Employer matched pension plan plus full health and dental benefits
  • Flex Time and work-life balance โ€“ we value output, not just hours
  • A clear career path you help design, with your managerโ€™s full support
  • Real mentorship from experienced leaders who are invested in your growth

How the Program Works โ€“ Three Phases, One Career Youโ€™re Proud Of

The SDP is a deliberate rotation through the full business, so you understand how every part connects before you specialize.

Phase 1 - Warehouse & Field Logistics

  • Get hands-on with the products that run Atlantic Canadaโ€™s water, wastewater, mining and aquaculture infrastructure. Learn how products move from vendor to customer and the importance of product knowledge and world-class service.
  • Assist with material handing (shipping/receiving) and field services to gain hands-on experience with the products and solutions we provide.

Phase 2 ย - Operationsย

  • Step into the engine room. Youโ€™ll work across order management, inventory, pricing, credit, and operational controls.
  • Develop professional skills and a deeper understanding of the backbone of our business.

Phase 3 - Inside Sales/Account Management

  • This is where it comes together. Go from helping customers with various product and service issues to managing large-scale projects.
  • Analyze detailed engineering design drawings and complete project take offs for municipal and industrial jobs.
  • Learn how to find new business opportunities and build customer and vendor relationships that last for decades.

At the end of the program, you and your Profit Centre Manager will map out the career track best suited to your strengths and ambitions.

Who Weโ€™re Looking For

We care looking for a candidate with the right drive and attitude. That said, hereโ€™s what sets strong candidates apart:

  • A results-oriented mindset โ€“ you keep score and you want to win
  • Strong character: Integrity, work ethic, and accountability
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to build relationships
  • The ability to stay sharp and switch gears in a fast-moving environment
  • A background in Engineering Technology or Business with a technical lean is an advantage
  • Post Secondary education is a plus, not a prerequisite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a bonus
