What is a rotational internship?

A rotational internship is a structured program where interns work in multiple departments or roles within an organization over a set period. This allows interns to gain exposure to different functions, develop a broad set of skills, and better understand how various teams collaborate. Rotational internships are especially common in large companies and are designed to help participants discover their career interests and strengths. These programs often include mentorship, training sessions, and performance feedback to support professional growth.

How does a rotational internship help interns discover their preferred career path within an organization?

A rotational internship exposes interns to various departments and functions within the organization, allowing them to gain hands-on experience in different roles. This structure helps interns better understand their strengths, interests, and the kinds of work environments they thrive in. By collaborating with diverse teams and tackling a range of projects, interns can make informed decisions about which career path aligns best with their skills and aspirations. Additionally, the networks built during rotations often lead to mentorship and future job opportunities within the company.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a rotational intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Rotational Intern, you need strong adaptability, a willingness to learn, and a foundational understanding of the business or industry, typically supported by current enrollment in a relevant degree program. Familiarity with productivity tools like Microsoft Office, project management software, and basic data analysis systems is often required. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills help interns build relationships and contribute meaningfully across diverse departments. These skills and qualities are important because rotational internships expose interns to various functions, requiring flexibility and effective collaboration to maximize the learning experience and add value to each team.

Job description

JOIN THE ACTION - Event Staff
Bon Secours Wellness Arena | Greenville, SC

Do you live for the roar of the crowd? Are you the kind of person who gets energy from a packed house rather than drained by it? Bon Secours Wellness Arena is looking for enthusiastic, guest-focused individuals who want to be part of something bigger than a typical job - a front-row seat to live sports, concerts, and unforgettable events.

What You'll Do

As a member of our Event Staff team, you're the face of the fan experience. No two events are the same, and no two shifts are either. You'll rotate through key guest service roles including:

  • Ticket Taking & Entry - Welcome guests and ensure smooth, accurate venue access
  • Ushering & Seating - Guide guests to their seats and help them feel right at home
  • Greeter & Guest Services - Be the friendly first impression that sets the tone for the night
  • Security & Crowd Management - Keep the environment safe, fun, and flowing for everyone

Your shifts will include keeping aisles and egress areas clear, directing guests to seating, restrooms, and concessions, standing at established checkpoints, and partnering with supervisors to handle any situation that comes up - because in live entertainment, things move fast and you'll move with them.

Heads up on the environment: This role involves extended periods of standing, frequent stair use, loud noise, variable lighting, and exposure to varying temperatures and large crowds. If that sounds like your kind of atmosphere, you'll fit right in.

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine passion for live entertainment and the energy of a big crowd - this isn't just a perk, it's a must
  • A natural people person who brings warmth and professionalism to every guest interaction
  • Calm under pressure with sharp situational awareness - you keep your cool when it counts
  • Basic comfort with technology: navigating a scheduling website, checking email regularly, and using a mobile app for timekeeping

Why BSWA?

Every shift is an event. Whether it's a sold-out concert, a playoff game, or a one-night-only show, you'll be part of making it happen - and making it great. If creating memorable moments for thousands of guests sounds like your kind of work, we want to hear from you.

WE'LL BE HIRING MULTIPLE STAFF UNDER THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
