Scope of the Position

This position provides early-career talent with hands-on exposure to branch operations through a structured rotational program and job shadowing across key functional areas. The Student Rotational Associate will support daily branch activities while actively learning how different departments collaborate to deliver customer service, manage inventory, and support sales efforts.


The role emphasizes practical learning, guided participation, and mentorship under the supervision of experienced branch team members, with a focus on building foundational knowledge across branch operations.


Major Responsibilities

  • Rotate through multiple branch roles, including Customer Service, Inside Sales, Shipping/Receiving, and Warehouse Operations
  • Actively support customer service activities, including order placement and product pickup, while learning best practices for customer interaction
  • Assist with the order fulfillment process, including order entry, picking, and documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Learn to identify customer needs by supporting team members with product recommendations and alternatives
  • Collaborate with Sales and Branch teams by sharing customer feedback, questions, and insights gathered during rotations
  • Support inventory handling and storage processes to gain exposure to supply chain and warehouse operations
  • Assist with overflow sales calls and administrative tasks under supervision
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while following branch safety standards
  • Participate in structured learning activities, mentorship sessions, and rotational assignments
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support development and business needs


Requirements

  • Enrollment in or recent completion of a post-secondary program (diploma or degree)
  • High School Diploma required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Up to 1 year of related work, co-op, or internship experience preferred
  • Exposure to customer service, sales, warehouse, or inventory environments is an asset
  • Experience with inventory or ERP systems is considered an advantage but not required

  • Structured onboarding and training plan provided at the start of the role
  • Rotational schedule across key departments to build well-rounded experience
  • Ongoing mentorship and guidance from experienced team members
  • Regular check-ins and feedback to support learning and development


Timeline / Duration

  • Duration: 4-month, 8-month, or summer term
  • Schedule: Based on business needs and academic availability


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within a warehouse/branch environment
  • Ability to lift and move materials (up to 30–50 lbs) with appropriate equipment
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse setting with safety protocols and equipment
  • Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed
