Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Die Cutter Operator to join our Specialty Cartons team. The Die Cutter Operator will operate offline die cutting machines to produce end-result printed materials in accordance with customer specifications. This role requires expertise in machine operation, quality assurance, safety compliance, and team collaboration. The successful candidate will ensure consistent, high-quality product output while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and customer requirements including ISO standards, cGMP, and HACCP Food Safety Requirements.

Must-Haves
  • Minimum 3+ years of offline die cutting operator experience in the folding carton industry
  • Experience with die cutters equipped with blanking capability
  • Proven ability to perform a variety of make readies, resolve defects, troubleshoot, and make adjustments
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to work rotating shifts and extended hours (in excess of 8 hours per day and/or 40 hours per week) when necessary
Primary Functions
  • Operate offline die cutter machines and monitor operations to ensure consistent, high-quality output
  • Prepare die cutters by adjusting dies and registers for pressure and cutting specifications
  • Perform a variety of make-ready tasks to achieve high productivity and precision operations
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, resolve defects, and make necessary adjustments to maintain speed and quality
  • Clear jams and perform maintenance tasks while processing product
  • Oversee general technicians working on equipment as needed
  • Ensure efficient and rapid make-ready operations with unloading and loading of materials
  • Review finished products for quality and accuracy to ensure they exceed customer expectations
  • Complete all required quality checklists and documentation
  • Support and communicate ISO standards and quality objectives to team members
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements, and Chain of Custody Program Requirements
  • Maintain adherence to all OHSE policies and safety protocols
  • Assist team members in maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Required Skills
    • Advanced offline die cutting experience with proficiency in machine operation and troubleshooting
    • Experience with die cutters featuring blanking capability (preferably Cleveland or Bobst machines)
    • Mathematical skills including ability to compute percentages, weights, and measures
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to make precise adjustments
    • Manual dexterity and ability to manipulate equipment and materials safely
    • Basic computer skills for data entry and machine interface operation
    • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception with ability to adjust focus
    • Good eye-hand coordination
    • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors
    • Leadership and team management capabilities
    • Knowledge of ISO standards and quality objectives
    • Familiarity with cGMP, HACCP Food Safety Requirements, and Chain of Custody protocols
