Job description

Role Overview

The Technology Operations & Delivery Lead is a leadership role reporting directly to the CIO. This is a role responsible for ensuring that technology work gets done โ€” predictably, transparently, and in alignment with business priorities.

This position owns the flow of work across IT, ensures disciplined delivery and operational execution, while also stepping in wherever needed to ensure smooth operations โ€” including audit support, issue investigation, and operational problem-solving.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for a technology leader who is equally comfortable managing work intake through Azure DevOps or Kanban boards, leading audit and compliance efforts, and diving into recurring operational issues to drive root-cause resolution. The role carries influence and accountability and is ideal for someone who leads through collaboration, credibility, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Delivery & Work Management

  • Own IT work intake, prioritization, and visibility using Azure DevOps (ADO), Kanban, and Agile practices
  • Coordinate delivery across projects, enhancement, and operational workstreams
  • Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, standups, and delivery reviews
  • Ensure work progresses predictably, transparently, and in alignment with business priorities

Technology Operations & Execution

  • Ensure smooth day-to-day technology operations across systems, vendors, and teams
  • Lead responses to audits, compliance requests, and control reviews
  • Investigate recurring operational issues and drive root-cause analysis and corrective action
  • Step in wherever needed to remove blockers, resolve ambiguity and keep technology moving forward

Business & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as a trusted partner to business leaders, translating needs into actionable technology work
  • Provide regular delivery, risk visibility, and execution updates and progress reporting to the CIO and stakeholders
  • Translate business needs into actionable, prioritized technology work
  • Balance competing priorities while maintaining focus on outcomes and value delivery

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and coordinate IT staff without direct people management\HR responsibilities
  • Influence outcomes with engineers, analysts, vendors, and partners through clarity, structure, collaboration and follow-through
  • Promote operational discipline, continuous improvement, and a โ€œget it doneโ€ culture

Qualifications & Experience

  • 7+ years in technology operations, delivery, project management, or similar hybrid roles
  • Strong experience with Agile delivery, Scrum/Kanban, and work management tools (ADO preferred)
  • Proven ability to operate in both strategic and hands-on modes
  • Experience leading audits, incident reviews, compliance efforts, or control environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Background in regulated industries (insurance, financial services, healthcare) is a plus

Who This Role Is Not For

This role is not a good fit if you are looking for:

  • A pure Scrum Master role focused only on ceremonies
  • A traditional Project Manager role with narrow scope and limited operational accountability
  • A hands-off leadership role
  • Formal HR people management responsibilities
  • An environment where responsibility is tightly siloed with limited accountability

This role is for someone who takes pride in doing whatever is necessary to keep technology operations and delivery running smoothly.

Why This Role Matters

This role acts as an extension of the CIO, ensuring technology doesnโ€™t just have a roadmap โ€” it actually delivers, operates cleanly, and earns trust from the business.

Why Join Us

Youโ€™ll work directly with the CIO, have real ownership of outcomes, and play a key role in shaping how technology operates and delivers value across the organization.

Compensation

  • Commensurate with experience
  • Performance-based incentives

Benefits Package

  • 401(k) company match up to 6% eligible upon hire
  • Medical, dental & vision, including company paid Life insurance and long-term disability
  • Health care flexible spending accounts
  • Paid time off
  • Parental & family leave; military leave & pay
  • Employee Referral Incentive
  • Career Development & Continuing Education Assistance
