Their job includes inspecting roof damage, removing old roofing, and ensuring roofs are watertight and structurally sound. Roofers work on both residential and commercial projects and may also provide advice on roofing materials and maintenance. Safety is a crucial part of their job due to the risks involved in working at heights.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a roofer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Roofer, you need strong physical stamina, manual dexterity, and knowledge of roofing materials and installation techniques, often acquired through apprenticeships or on-the-job training. Familiarity with tools like nail guns, roofing harnesses, and safety equipment is essential, and OSHA safety certification is commonly required. Attention to detail, reliability, and effective teamwork are standout soft skills for this role. These abilities are crucial to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient roofing work that meets industry standards and client expectations.

What jobs are in the roofing industry?
