Job description

Job Summary

Wagner Roofing Company is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our growing team. In this role, you will take ownership of commercial roofing projects from estimating handoff through final closeout, serving as the primary point of coordination between our clients, Operations, Estimating, field teams, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.

The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are properly planned, executed safely and efficiently, completed on schedule and within budget, and delivered to Wagner Roofing's high standards of quality. This role requires strong project ownership, proactive communication, financial awareness, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong client relationships.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning & Management:
      1. Take ownership of assigned projects from estimating handoff through final closeout.
      2. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining appropriate attention to schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
      3. Manage project documentation, including contracts, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, schedules, and correspondence.
      4. Identify project risks and proactively address potential delays, disruptions, and financial impacts.
      5. Monitor project progress, costs, and financial performance to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
      6. Partner with Operations to coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, scheduling, and site logistics.
      7. Coordinate with Estimating and Operations to ensure an effective transition from preconstruction through field execution.
      8. Conduct site visits to assess project conditions, identify potential challenges, and proactively develop solutions.
      9. Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, procurement needs, and key milestones.
      10. Review contracts, scopes, drawings, specifications, estimates, and schedules to understand project requirements.
  2. Quality & Safety:
    • Monitor project quality and ensure work meets specifications, contractual requirements, and Wagner Roofing standards.
    • Implement corrective actions as needed to address any project deficiencies. Coordinate corrective action with Operations and field leadership when deficiencies are identified.
    • Document and communicate Project Performance metrics on a daily basis to identify areas for improvement.
    • Enforce and promote strict adherence to current Safety Regulations and best practices to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  3. Client Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with Colleagues, Clients, Subcontractors, Suppliers, and their Stakeholders.
    • Communicate daily with clients and serve as primary point of contact providing regular updates on Project Progress, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction.
    • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
    • Identify Opportunities for additional services or project expansions to enhance client satisfaction and drive business growth.
  4. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a dedicated Project Manager role within the roofing or construction industry, independently managing projects through the full project lifecycle from planning and mobilization through execution and closeout.
  • Demonstrated experience managing both residential roofing and commercial roofing or commercial construction projects, including scheduling, coordination, documentation, and working with General Contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
