Job description

Overview 

We are seeking an exceptional Commercial Roofing Superintendent to lead and elevate our production field operations. This is not just a management role — we are looking for an outstanding, inspirational, and disciplined field leader who sets the standard for safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism.  The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience in technical flat roofing systems and a proven track record of leading high-performing foreman to manage crews on commercial projects and managing operations and equipment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities  

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire multiple commercial roofing crews in the field 
  • Oversee installation of flat roofing systems (TPO, PVC, EPDM, Modified Bitumen, BUR, coatings, etc.) for self-performed and subcontracted projects 
  • Enforce safety standards with zero-compromise discipline 
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards 
  • Coordinate with project managers, General Contractors, other trades, vendors, inspectors, and clients 
  • Conduct daily job site safety inspections and quality control checks 
  • Develop foreman and leadman and build a culture of accountability and excellence 
  • Troubleshoot technical roofing challenges in real time 
  • Maintain detailed daily reports and project documentation 
  • Manage materials, equipment, and jobsite logistics efficiently 
  • Lead Mankato Operations including cranes, warehouse, equipment and inventory. 
  • Oversee Mankato office maintenance.   

Qualifications 

  • 5+ years of experience supervising commercial flat roofing teams as a superintendent and/or project manager 
  • Deep technical knowledge of flat roofing systems and manufacturer specifications 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop crews
     
  • Strong understanding of OSHA and commercial jobsite safety requirements 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications 
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills 
  • Valid driver’s license  
  • Strong bilingual English and Spanish speaker 

Work Environment 

This position operates some of the time in a typical office environment, spending time at a desk, typing at a computer, talking with people in person and on the phone, taking notes, and using standard office equipment. The job also requires job site visits and field work. 

Physical Demands 

Frequent visits to job sites; must be able to work in outdoor conditions including heat, cold, and varying weather. 

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer when in the office. 

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work 

This is a full-time position, and business hours are Monday through Friday. Longer hours, evenings, and weekend work as necessary.   

Travel 
Travel to job sites in the region is required.
