Job description

The Commercial Roofing Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating all on-site activities related to commercial roofing projects. This pivotal role requires comprehensive knowledge of roofing systems, outstanding supervisory skills, and the ability to ensure seamless project execution. The Superintendent will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and the construction team to deliver safe, high-quality, and successful roofing projects within established timelines and budgets.


Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Preparations:
    • Collaborate with the Project Manager to understand project scope, objectives, and requirements.
    • Review project plans and specifications to ensure full understanding of the project's technical aspects.
  2. On-Site Supervision:
    • Oversee all aspects of roofing projects on-site, ensuring that work is conducted according to approved plans and in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Direct and coordinate the activities of roofing crews, subcontractors, and other team members to maximize efficiency and productivity.
    • Monitor work progress and adjust schedules and resources as needed to meet project milestones.
  3. Quality Assurance and Safety:
    • Implement and enforce strict quality control measures to ensure roofing systems are installed to the highest standards.
    • Lead regular inspections to identify and address any potential issues or deficiencies promptly.
    • Prioritize and enforce safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety among the team.
  4. Material and Equipment Management:
    • Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for roofing projects.

  5. Communication and Reporting:

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Part-time travel necessary
  • Proven experience (at least 3 years) as a Commercial Roofing Superintendent, with a successful track record in overseeing multiple commercial roofing projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and the ability to ensure a safe working environment.
