As a Rolling Technician, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the Pipe Mill by maintaining, adjusting, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role is essential to minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and keeping our mill operating at its best.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

You’ll be a key contributor within our Rolling Mill Department, responsible for:

  • Performing autonomous maintenance tasks such as greasing, oiling, and checking fluid levels
  • Adjusting, setting up, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment
  • Monitoring rolling mill operations and supporting floor production activities
  • Troubleshooting minor mechanical and electrical issues
  • Operating overhead cranes, jib cranes, and motorized vehicles safely
  • Inspecting pipe and immediately reporting quality concerns or defects
  • Removing scrap and maintaining a clean, safe work environment
  • Making routine rounds to identify potential hazards, breakdowns, or equipment issues
  • Completing required documentation, work orders, and maintenance records
  • Supporting preventive maintenance and minimizing mechanical delays
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities (CIT, MADE, RCA, CAPEX)
  • Following all safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
  • Actively supporting 5S standards in the shop and mill
  • Flexibility to work any assigned shift

What You Bring

We’re looking for reliable, safety-focused candidates who bring strong mechanical aptitude and a team-first mindset:

  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Strong general mechanical skills; ability to use tools and torch equipment effectively
  • Ability to learn and operate all floor stations within the assigned area
  • Willingness and ability to cross-train across rolling mill and floor operations
  • Knowledge of safe rigging practices and industrial equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy tools and parts and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to fabricate and weld steel structures (preferred)
  • General knowledge of industrial pumps and compressed air systems
  • Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment
  • Preferred: Five (5) or more years in manufacturing or heavy industrial equipment roles
