Job Summary
Under limited supervision, underwrite new and renewal Cyber and Tech E&O business with accountability for profitable growth, broker engagement, and disciplined portfolio management. This role evaluates complex cyber exposures, delivers timely and market-facing underwriting decisions, and partners cross-functionally with distribution, product, claims, actuarial, risk management, and operations to drive strong underwriting performance and service outcomes. The Senior Underwriter serves as a trusted resource and advisor to brokers and clients by combining sound underwriting judgment with a clear understanding of the evolving cyber threat landscape.


Key Responsibilities
Assist in meeting annual department goals for profitability, renewal retention, new business growth and rate increase.

Evaluate risks for acceptability within established underwriting guidelines.

Make timely, well-reasoned underwriting decisions and clearly communicate indications, quotes, pricing rationale, coverage positions, and declinations to producers within agreed upon company time frames. Develop, manage, and deepen broker relationships to drive submission flow, grow target distribution partners, and position TMHCC as a preferred market in the cyber space. Maintain responsiveness on submissions, renewals, referrals, endorsements, and broker inquiries within established service standards.

Act within scope of authority and consistent with company and corporate objectives, guidelines, policies and practices.

Identify attractive target risks and proactively source opportunities within assigned territories, industry segments, and distribution channels.

Partner with brokers to understand evolving cyber exposures and articulate TMHCC's appetite, differentiators, risk management and service expectations. Communicate and provide instruction and information to Administrative Supervisor and/or Underwriting Assistants, as required, for issuing policies and endorsements.

Provide guidance to Administrative Supervisor and/or underwriting assistants and less experienced underwriters on account handling, documentation, service expectations, and workflow prioritization.

Stay current on cyber threat trends, market conditions, form and wording developments, legal and regulatory issues, and emerging technologies that impact underwriting strategy.

Contribute to broker education efforts, product enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen TMHCC's market presence and underwriting capabilities.

Pursue educational classes such as Chartered Property & Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and/or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU), as agreed upon with management.

Preferred: state-specific insurance license depending on specialty area

The pay range for this position is$122,600-$184,000which includes geographic adjustments, where applicable. The pay range is the range THMCC, in good faith, believes is the range of compensation for this role at the timeof this posting.
