Impact Housing (IH) is a vertically integrated modular design-builder and developer headquartered in Southern California.

Our mission is to continuously evolve the world's most sophisticated and efficient housing delivery system. We pursue this mission by reimagining every element of how multifamily projects are designed, manufactured, and built-driving down costs, shortening schedules, and expanding access to high-quality housing for the people who need it most, whether through LIHTC or unsubsidized projects.

To date this decade, the IH team has built or is actively developing close to 1,500 modular units demonstrating a scalable, repeatable path to affordability. With the capability to produce approximately 1,000 units per year today, IH is expanding to meet growing demand in San Diego, Los Angeles, and beyond.

We are now entering the next stage of our growth and strengthening every team across the company to achieve our next set of goals. We plan to manufacture and build more than 10,000 units through 2030. To accomplish this, we are implementing the Lean Standard Model company-wide; deploying AI at every level of the company; and positioning IH as a national thought leader in modular development.

POSITION SUMMARY

Impact Housing is seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Material Handler I to support our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, transporting, and replenishing materials to ensure uninterrupted production. The Material Handler I safely operates forklifts and other material handling equipment, maintains inventory accuracy, and supports warehouse organization while following all safety and quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with warehouse or manufacturing experience who is looking to grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and shipping documents.
  • Safely transport raw materials, supplies, and finished products throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
  • Store materials in designated warehouse locations and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Perform inventory transactions in the ERP system (NetSuite preferred).
  • Replenish production materials to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Return unused materials to inventory and maintain proper material traceability.
  • Maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
  • Assist with cycle counts and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain receiving, shipping, and inventory documentation.
  • Review shipments for quality, quantity, and accuracy, reporting discrepancies as needed.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, including proper disposal of scrap materials and adherence to 5S standards.
  • Communicate with internal departments to support production needs and resolve material issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS


Experience

  • 1-2 years of warehouse and/or material handling experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of recent sit-down forklift experience required.
  • Experience with WMS or ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) is a plus.

  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and climb ladders when necessary.

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor manufacturing environments as needed.
